First Stop on the Ultimate Christmas Shop Road Trip – Miss Cayce’s

First stop on our road trip is Midland Texas. Midland is an hour flight west of Dallas, and is the middle of oil country. In this Texan town of about 150,000 people you will find Miss Cayce’s Christmas Store.

Miss Cayce’s began 28 years ago by sisters Becky McCraney and Kathy Harrison. The store is so beautiful. Every detail and every display has been thought through and created to ensure wherever you look you will be amazed. As we are here just prior to Halloween the front of the store has been turned over to a gorgeous Halloween display. Look up on the rafters and there is even a skeleton riding a bicycle.

Miss Cayce’s and their Show Me Decorating Team pride themselves on decorating, and teaching everyone how to decorate for not only Christmas but other holidays. They create gorgeous wreaths and table centre pieces for sale in the store, as well as custom making pieces for their customers. They want to rid the world of ugly Christmas trees and have created an appthat gives you all the skills you need to decorate your Christmas tree and create the “wow factor”.

What I love most about this store:

  • the fine details in the displays. Gorgeous lamps and pieces of furniture to complement a display, and the beautifully considered themes throughout the store,
  • the display trees are sensational. Lovely large trees bursting with decorations,
  • the store is full of wonderful pieces, but doesn’t feel cluttered. These ladies know how to display and inspire
  • All visitors to the store are offered a cookie and coke/diet coke. Such great hospitality.

While this is the first in our stop for the road trip, if you love Christmas, and are in Texas, you must make your way to this precious store!
