Christmas In July Charity Event

Christmas in July 2016 was another fabulous, fun event.

For the past 2 years I have hosted a Christmas In July inspired event at my home. It’s a great opportunity to gather the fan’s of My Christmas together and have some fun! Christmas in July 2016 begans celebrations for our 10th anniversary in business so I am particularly excited about celebrating this milestone with our customers and staff.

As I reflect on the decade I feel so proud of everything we have achieved and I just couldn’t have done it without the enduring commitment of my team and the support of our customers over the last 10 years. So thank you!!

This Christmas In July event is also a fundraising opportunity. Supporting Very Special Kids and the amazing work they do for families impacted by children with life threatening illness is one of the primary reason for the event. An event such as this would not be possible without the support of our wonderful local business friends. Cobi & her team at Flowers of Canterbury supported this event in 2015 and again in 2016, and this year we welcome our newest neighbours, Nick & Eve from the Chatham Food Store. Together we donate our services to create this special Christmas In July event to raise money for Very Special Kids.

As well as the delicious goodies donated by Chatham Food Store this event gave me a chance to make my two stock standard and absolute favourite sweet nibbles. Meringues are just too easy and I added some red sprinkles to add a little festive cheers. And the Strawberry Santa Hats are the best. So yummy and get so simple. Celebrating Christmas In July also gives us the opportunity to deck the halls a little. Two full size Christmas trees were set up, garlands added around the porch and "snow" lined the entrance path. Thanks to all those who attended. It was fun enjoying good company while playing the Christmas carols and drinking a glass of mulled wine. Here are a few photos from the event.
